Men or Women? Who are really the better drivers?
It looks like the women squeak this one out according to reports by Insweb. They show statistics that conclude that men are almost two times as likely to have a DUI on their driving record and just show of 1% more likely to have at least one moving violation. The numbers sway back in favor of the men showing that woman are more likely to be involved in an auto accident than men.
When you add it all up, the men are more likely to have some sort of violation on their record. In plain numbers, it is near 20,000 more men than woman have tainted driving records. According to these findings, it is true that women appear to be the safer drivers.
Although the numbers in this report where generated using a cross section of drivers, it is pretty much in line with what is happening across the nation. This is precisely why women get better insurance rates than men.
